NITM has distributed some essential items to the villages (Kalatek and Umkhaba)
Gram Sabha meeting held on 24-8-2024 in Sohra (Village: Mawsmai, Kutmadan and Saitsophen)
NIT Meghalaya (UBA Cell) organized ORIENTATION WORKSHOP on 7th September 2024 for all the Participating Institutes in Meghalaya via hybrid mode. UG, PG and Ph.D. students were also present in the program. Four invited lectures were delivered related to sustainable rural development, solar energy applications in villages and waste management. Representatives from the Bethany Society Shillong were also present in this event. Dr. Carmo Noronha (Secretary, Bethany Society) gave a talk on sustainable rural development and its related aspects with demonstrations.
The UBA Cell, NIT Meghalaya received kind assistance from M/s Shree Gautam Construction Co. Ltd. Guwahati under RITES Ltd., through a CSR scheme, to obtain an engine boat for the Kalatek villagers so that they can use it to cross the river as a part of their regular transportation. On the auspicious day of Gandhi Jayanti (2nd October), we handed over the Engine Boat to the representatives of Kalatek village, Shella Bholaganj Block, East Khasi Hills District.
